Year End Review 2010

Rare Entries, I just felt I needed to pen down some thoughts & feelings permanently. Its been 6mths since I left SAC, switched 4 jobs till my current "lobang" starting 10 Jan 11. God truly has been good all the way, Everything happens for a reason seems so true. W/o AKLC, I would'nt have my last drawn, w/o FOCUS ADV, I would not have met ROCHE.. and as a bonus, God brought ROCKSTART/ Mindmax into the picture as well. Joey(AK) brought up a point that I/ we all have parts in us that dichotomously co-exist, for me it could possibly to choose confidence/skills over lack of it/LSE. Its amazing that considering everything that has been these last few months, I've never had a day of non-work; continuous employment and managing to fit into all the workplace systems and peoples seamlessly. Adaptability.. a double-sided virtue. Looking into the new year and some habits/ improvements to make, God is to be at the top of my list!

2) SA, Initiative & no Shortcuts EXCELLENCE!!

Lessons From Watching Anime

Growing up, one of my greatest joys was waking up early to watch saturday morning cartoons. I grew to love a specific genere, anime (Jap animation) with its development of the lead character's growth through his overcoming of obstacles to victory was simply heart warming. Each series was memorable because of its inspirational, motivational and teachable life principles.

For me, it truly represents the ideal Hero's Journey from the ordinary life to overcoming challenges, trials and ultimate triumph. Animes taught me much about teamwork, friendships, determination, hard work and sometimes dealing with personal tragedies. Some of my top picks....

Slam Dunk - (The first anime I ever watched) Basketball, Passion & Determination

Hajime no Ippo & Hajime no Ippo New Challenger - Bullying, Boxing & Hardwork

Hikaru No Go - Go (board game), talent & friendship

Naruto & Naruto Shippuuden - many life lessons about perseverance and creating our own choices

Others include Death Note, Bleach, X-men ...etc

HOPE

"Sometimes in our lives we all have pain. We all have sorrow.
But if we are wise. We know that there's always tomorrow"

Lyrics from "Lean On Me" Bill Withers

"The sun'll come out Tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow There'll be sun! Just thinkin' about Tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs, And the sorrow 'Til there's none! When I'm stuck with a day That's gray, And lonely, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say, Oh The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way!"

Lyrics from "Little Orphan Annie - Tomorrow"

Hope is one of the greatest force on earth. It can prolong life or simply exterminate it. An experiment done on rats (http://www.humanpower.com/articles/drowningrats.html) demostrates this. Another story is told whereby a man trapped in the ice compartment of a truck for 5 hours simply willed himself to die, believing that he would eventually freeze to death. He wrote a note saying how it was so cold, that he could no longer feel his fingers...etc. He lost hope that he could be rescued in time! When he was finally found, it was discovered that the air-conditioning unit has been broken all along!!!! He simply lost hope and gave up on his will to live!

Just like the Hero who faces his darkest hour before a final victory, so we all will face cloudy days and heart-wrenching setbacks when we are nearest to our moment of final glory. Persevere with hope to see the certain light of dawn just after the blackest tent of night!

Live each day to its fullest and hang on to hope if ever you feel down. Find a friend to talk to (The Team™) and simply know that tommorrow will definately be a better day! Have faith and hope my friend.

God Bless~

COUNTING THE ODDS

A hero often encounters overwhelming odds and finds himself placed in disadvantageous situations. A critical skill he must muster is the simple decision of knowing what battles are worth fighting for and what battles to let pass. Not everyone can win people to their side 100% of the time!

A story is told of a wiseman who had all the knowledge in the world. He probably he had the solution to every problem man could think up. Problem was, he wanted so badly to share his ideas that he often came across too forcefully, being insensitive and tactless towards others feelings. He irritated many people and soon he realized no one was interested in his ideas - though they were excellent!

The wiseman had to learn how to select and tackle problems that mattered the most and not pick on every single issue that was present. Some problems cause more trouble than others & vice versa, provide the most relief when solved. He saw value in respecting people as they were and the importance of Kindness & Grace.

"People judge us by our actions, not our intentions. We might have a
heart of gold, but so does a hardboiled egg!"
